The RM900,000 Porsche Panamera that was driven out of a showroom in Jalan Bukit Bintang has been recovered.
Police found the car near a condominium in Seri Kembangan on Monday.
“It is still in good condition,” said City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah.
“We have taken the sports car back to the city police headquarters for further investigations,” he said yesterday.
The car went missing 11 days earlier after a well-dressed man walked into the showroom and pretended to be looking for someone.
He then drove the Porsche away.
He has since been under remand. The 31-year-old man claimed that he was paid RM30,000 to steal the car and deliver it to someone else.
Police believe there was a link to another theft of a luxury car in Cheras. In that incident, an Audi R8, worth around RM560,000, was stolen from a showroom there on Sept 6, using the same modus operandi.
The Porsche Panamera is a four-door saloon which was unveiled at the Shanghai Automobile Show in China in 2009.
It is Porche’s first luxury saloon car and is marketed as a higher performing alternative to other executive saloon cars.
